Vintage 1950’s Midcentury Modern foldable sofabed for sale. Originally from the 1950’s, and was professionally reupholstered in the 1960’s. The owners have it covered with a plastic sofa cover after all these years so the upholstery is flawless. It’s in a lavender pink brocade silk with white accents. The backrest easily folds down to a daybed. Very practical couch that is really well made. Has four tapered legs finished in walnut. The front two has solid brass caps. Great 1950’s design and aesthetic. It’s really comfortable, and really solid. The last image is of the sofa with the custom sofa slip cover.
Sofa was just used for the March issue of Essence Magazine with Beyonce on the cover. It was used for the photo shoot with Beyonce. The photography is by Andre D. Wegner.
The measurements are 90″ long x 35″ deep x 32″ tall x 19″ seat height. When sofa converts to bed it is 42″ total depth or width.
